The transatlantic slave trade raged for 400 years and claimed more than 15 million victims. Africans and people of African descent were victims of these brutal acts and continue to suffer the consequences.

On the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade, we tell the world to never forget this global crime against humanity.

National Seminar on World Water Day and International Year of Water Cooperation – 22 March 2013

A day-long national seminar on World Water Day and International Year of Water Cooperation was organized jointly by UNIC Dhaka, NGO Forum for Public Health, and Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) of the Government of Bangladesh. Presided over by the Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Local Government Rural Development (LGRD), the inaugural session was addressed by UNIC Officer-in-Charge, some Ambassadors of European Union and the Chairperson of NGO Forum. More than 300 participants from different sections of society took part in the seminar.
